What started out as sewing one costume for my daughter’s role as Ceres, the “grain goddess-ghost guest” in the banquet scene of “The Tempest” in 2014, has blossomed into dressing over 100 Shakespearean characters and sewing almost as many costumes and accessories for the Carlisle High School Shakespeare Troupe, over the last eight years as a volunteer seamstress/wardrobe mistress/costume designer. I assist the students and teachers of CHS’s Page to Stage class and their Shakespeare Troupe with costume ideas, concepts, design, and construction, in addition to working as a casting assistant for their annual spring production. I have had the great privilege and honor of working with a phenomenal team of immensely talented local volunteer adult and student artisans and seamstresses to help bring my creations to life. It’s a role that I cherish and hope to continue for as long as they will let me. If it’s Spring, I’m SEWING FOR SHAKESPEARE. <3<3<3
